EMI’s multi-talented NERVO have announced the release of their first official single, “We’re All No One” featuring Afrojack and Steve Aoki“We’re All No One” will be released as a digital single on September 2nd2011.  The remix bundle includes both the original mix and an edit of the song along with four remixes; NERVO Goes To Paris Remix, Hook N Sling Remix, Dave Aude Club Mix and Jungle Fiction Remix; available via Beatport on the same day.

Influential blogger Arjan Writes premiered the edited version of the track ( recently and the Queen of all Media Perez Hilton debuted the original mix (

A remix teaser of the song is available for free download at

Check out the lyric video for the song here:

“We’re All No One” is the first commercial release in which the girls (Mim & Liv) step up to the mic to perform the vocals.  The song is a marked departure in style and sound from their more underground dancefloor productions of the past year, and showcases a daring new vision, that sets its sights on the future of pop, electro and dance synergies.

NERVO has spent most of the U.S. summer opening for Nicki Minaj and Britney Spearson their massive Femme Fatale arena tour while simultaneously playing late night gigs in clubs and jetting to Vegas for their monthly residency with the Wynn Hotel Group.  They are now rinsing it on the Identity tour in the U.S. playing the Advent stage.  The Identity tour is the biggest travelling electronic music festival in the U.S. and features superstars Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Avicii, DJ Shadow, Skrillex, Chuckie and more. They also recently contributed vocals to their 1st Beatport Number 1 and official Tomorrowland Festival anthem “The Way We See The World”, which they co-wrote and co-produced withAfrojack, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike; a super credible club smash.

NERVO are fast emerging as the most sought-after DJ duo in dance music. They may be outrageously beautiful but that’s overshadowed by their sheer talent. They are also hit songwriters, producers and artists, a feisty sister tag-team that is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with on the club scene worldwide with their infectious blend of chunky, dirty, sexed-up electro-house.  They’ve toured with Paul Oakenfold and Chuckie on the acclaimed 2010 “Facelift” tour and have played around the globe including festival gigs at Lollapalooza, Winter Music Conference, Ultra, IMS in Ibiza, Tomorrowland, Summer Daze and more.

NERVO have had success on the club charts with their 2010 club releases “This Kind Of Love” and “Irresistible” both featuring vocalist Ollie James.  Their growing list of collaborators includes luminaries such as Avicii, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Kaskade, Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki, Dadalife and John Dahlback. In addition to their rising status in the Electronic Dance Music scene, the girls are equally at home in the world of contemporary pop penning hits for such artists as Ke$ha, Kylie Minogue, The Pussycat Dolls, Jennifer Hudson and more.  Their big break-through as songwriters came when they wrote David Guetta’s world-wide smash “When Love Takes Over” featuring Kelly Rowland , which charted at #1 in 11 countries across the globe and went on to win a Grammy in 2010.

In news sure to thrill hip hop fans, Illusive are pleased to announce the return of hip hop heavyweight Xzibit to our shores in November. Xzibit marks his return to Australia after almost five years with a whirlwind tour that sees him cover 11 venues in a just over a fortnight. Alongside capital cities, X will grace Newcastle, Cairns, Townsville, Traralgon and Hobart for the first time ever.

Recognised as a true West Coast stalwart and ‘one of the most respected rappers in the game’ (Rolling Stone), Xzibit first came to public attention in the late ’90s with his debut album ‘At The Speed of Light’ (1996) and ‘40 Dayz & 40 Nightz’ (1998). He enjoyed his first major success when he joined with Snoop Dogg for the Dr. Dre produced hit Bitch Please. The Dre association continued with ‘What’s the Difference’, ‘Lolo’ and ‘Some L.A. Niggaz’ on Dre’s seminal Chronic 2001 album, which led to Xzibit’s inclusion on what is arguably the most infamous hip hop tour of all time – Up in Smoke, alongside the likes of Snoop, Eminem, and Ice Cube.

In the same year, Xzibit released ‘Restless’, which featured club anthems ‘X’ and ‘Get Your Walk On’, and was certified platinum in the US within a matter of weeks. In 2002, Xzibit followed this up with ‘Man vs. Machine’ – another huge commercial success, which featured the smash ‘Multiply’, and 2004’s ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’, featuring ‘Hey Now (Mean Muggin’)’.

Outside of the musical realm, Xzibit was – of course – the host of MTV’s wildly sucessful Pimp My Ride series from 2004 to 2007, which introduced his music to millions of new fans and made him a household name across the globe. In recent times, Xzibit is currently locked down in the studio at work on his highly anticipated comeback LP (due out in 2012).

Recognised as one of the most electrifying live hip-hop artists, with nearly two decades of classic material up his sleeve, Xzibit’s return to Australian shores promises to be a night to remember for the those that get their hands on tickets.

Roscoe James Irwin – Debut Album – The Hunting Road Preview Shows

Posted in Music with tags , , , on August 22, 2011 by speakertv

An artist like Roscoe James Irwin could only ever have come from the city of Melbourne. In a place that is crammed full of musicians working across all kinds of genres, Irwin has cemented his place as a kind of musical mastermind. From his involvement with seminal Australian bands The Cat Empire and The Bamboos, to his highly ambitious compositions and arrangements that have been performed by countless big bands and orchestras.

Considering his iconic status as a bandleader and large-scale composer, Irwin’s debut solo record, The Hunting Road, might then come as something of a shock. Nursing a broken heart Roscoe hit the road retreating to the picturesque Canadian Mountains with his acoustic guitar to write what would become his full-length album.

It seems that Irwin, whose musical palette is colourful and wide ranging, has surprised us all with a record that is simple, thoughtful, and beautiful. No brass or string sections, no jungle breaks or percussion, just simple folky pop songs and beautiful lyrical storytelling.

The Hunting Road’ is truly a gift from one of Melbourne’s most diverse artists baring his soul, and, more importantly, his imagination.

Come and see Roscoe and his band perform songs from ‘The Hunting Road’ at his Album Preview Shows:

Boy & Bear’s Moonfire Tour went on sale today at 9am and fans will be looking to get in quick sticks with their last tour’s tickets rarer then hen’s teeth. In Melbourne they made Corner Hotel history back in Autumn, as the fastest selling show they have ever held, reaching capacity within 40 minutes and paving the way for their entire twelve show run to sell out.

For the Moonfire Tour, Melbourne fans have once again made themselves heard.  Last week Boy & Bear received a motherload of requests direct to their facebook wall with under-aged Melbourners politely pleaing for a show their age could access. Boy & Bear couldn’t ignore their kind requests and made it their business to place an Under 18s show on the run (to the headache of their touring team).  They will now return to Melbourne from Canberra on Sunday 27th November to play a special afternoon Under 18s show for the devoted few at The Hi Fi. This show is also on sale now.

Sydney fans also get some special love from Boy & Bear with the band planning a small acoustic show at Red Eye Records on Thursday 25th August at 5.30pm.  To celebrate the release of Moonfire (and the #2 ARIA chart in its debut week) the band will be also be signing copies of the new album.

In a move to excite fans around the rest of the country, Boy & Bear are looking to release Moonfire on vinyl from Friday 19th August.  The vinyl has been cut from the original master tapes at The Lodgte in New York and will make the wait for The Moonfire Tour feel a little shorter

It seems it’s not only Australia who are demanding time of the Sydney quintet with Boy & Bear recently playing shows on the East Coast of USA.  Chicago’s Lollapollooza was first off the mark where Boy & Bear gave a crowd of thousands the first listen of their new Moonfire tracks. This was followed by a completely sold out (and then some) show at the Mercury Lounge in New York and an equally packed out show at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory.  It was a big week for the band, who released Moonfire digitally-only in the USA on Friday just gone.

Brisbane’s Ball Park Music and Melbourne’s The Paper Kites will be joining The Moonfire Tour.  With both band’s boasting new releases and a strong following in their own right Boy & Bear are more then happy to have them on board.

The Moonfire Tour is on sale now and Boy & Bear’s Moonfire is out now via Island/Universal.
