Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2011 returns for Round Two

Entries now open for teen bands to win a recording trip to LA

Red Bull Bedroom Jam is on a mission to discover – via webcam – teenage bands rehearsing in bedrooms across the nation. The second round of the 2011 competition will reward one band with a mind-blowing music prize: a trip to LA to record in Red Bull’s studios.

The four finalist bands from round one of Red Bull Bedroom Jam recently battled it out at a live gig in Alice Springs, alongside headline act British India. Melbourne four-piece rock band Welcome Wednesday took out top honours and will be heading to London to record in Red Bull’s studios, before performing at legendary UK rock festival Download in June.

Any band with members aged 14 – 19 years old itching to follow in Welcome Wednesday’s footsteps can enter the competition now, by uploading a video of them performing an original track to Bands then need to spread the word to encourage their fans to make some noise on the site’s custom made Buzz Chart.

Every fortnight for eight weeks, the band that tops the Buzz Chart will win the chance to stream a live performance to the world from their bedroom. A professional Red Bull film crew will be dispatched to the finalist’s house for the Live Webcast, hosted by MTV’s Daisy McHarg-McKenzie. From here, the four finalist bands will go on to play an epic wrap gig at a Backyard Jam event alongside a major Aussie band.

The first webcast winner will be announced on Thursday 2nd June and will broadcast live from their bedroom at 5.00pm on Thursday 9th June.  Make sure you check it out at
