Melbourne International Arts Festival 2010 – Come, Been and Gone

With the Melbourne International Arts Festival program being announced last week, Melbourne has many things to be excited about. With over 16 days, from 8th – 23rd of October the festival is going to bring us premieres from the world of dance, music, visual arts, mulitmedia, theatre, opera and outdoor events.

Come, Been and Gone is the latest work from Dancer, choreographer and artistic associate of London’s Barbican, Michael Clark Company. The UK smash hit manages to combine ballet, modern dance and rock music. What? you say…

If you don’t know who Michael Clark is, you soon you will. His creations of work combine his classical integrity with a more complex contemporary sensibility embracing virtue and vice, abandon and control, grace and embarrassment. He is renowned for his legendary collaborations with bands, fashion designers and visual artists including Wire, BodyMap, Leigh Bowery, Trojan and Sarah Lucas.

If you like Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Brian Eno, The Velvet Underground and Kraftwerk, then this is the dance show for you.

Friday 8th October
Saturday 9 Oct at 7.30pm
Sunday 10th Oct at 5pm
The Arts Centre, State Theatre
St Kilda Road Melbourne.
