Everything Everything = Love Love

Posted in Electric channel, Music, Rock'en channel with tags , on May 27, 2010 by speakertv

I was introduced to this band last night with the track ‘Schoolin’. This immediately made me fall in love with Everything Everything!
I don’t know what you would call their style but its refreshing, damn funky and different to anything else I’ve ever heard. They list their influences as Destiny’s Child, Gloworm and Guitarists & Drummers.

You can hear ‘Schoolin’ on their myspace:

LUXE
London, UK

Are Luxe rock’n’roll’s answer to a luxury brand; suave, with superbly crafted songs and scene-stealing hooks but with an added dash of something altogether much darker? Luxe are the new breed of brooding young men, with killer songs, a keen sense of style and an emerging talent that will keep audiences wanting more. Their bio says so, so maybe come see them and judge yourself. They’re defo worth a visual.

Obselidia – The Movie

Posted in Art/ off the wall, Music with tags , , on May 22, 2010 by speakertv

First time director Diane Bell has written a love story directly from her heart.

Starring Gaynor Howe, Aussie Michael Piccirilli, the score written and performed by Sneaker Pimps Liam Howe. Obselidia is the story of an Encyclopedia salesman George whose job becomes obsolete due to people obtaining their information verily therefore no longer needing to purchase encyclopedias.
Obselidia – the encyclopedia of Obsolete Things as he believes the world is disappearing all around him and he wants to catalogue it before it’s gone.

Picking up the Alfred P. Sloan Prize at this Year Sundance Film Festival for the best science or technology-theme movie, It’s definitely a film to check out on the festival circuit for 2010.
This is one film I’ll be making the trip to Edinburgh International Festival to see this year.
